Bern / Switzerland In fiscal year 2020, the mimacom-Flowable Group once again reported a strong increase in sales, new customers and company size. Together, the mimacom-Flowable Group with its three core brands, the digitization service provider mimacom, the experts for Intelligent Process Automation Flowable, and the Microsoft Teams customer service specialists at Luware, generated sales of over 61 million CHF.  The Group achieved an increase in sales in 2020 of 11 percent compared with the previous year. With regard to these figures and an increase in employees to 381 at the end of 2020, it shows an extremely positive basis for further growth. The mimacom-Flowable Group has achieved its most successful financial year since its formation, with strong organic growth in all areas, brands and regions.

Increasing demand for digital business solutions in 2020

“Last year, we exceeded our own expectations in terms of sales and orders,” says Kurt Amacher, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CFO of the mimacom-Flowable Group, on the release of these business results. “After a very successful first quarter of 2020, we expected declines due to the pandemic, but we were actually able to accelerate the growth of our group of companies.” Amacher sees the reason for this in the increased need for digitization and process automation in many industries. The Group’s technological expertise and digital innovative strength were particularly in demand: “Covid-19 has challenged companies to a new level of intensity. The current business environment is more closely linked than ever to digital success factors,” says Agim Emruli, member of the Board of Directors and CEO. “Our expertise in software innovation proved to have great potential for us and our customers in 2020.”

mimacom-Flowable Group ends year with significant customer and employee growth

This potential can be seen, among other places, in the automation and digitization of business processes. Flowable as a digital platform for Intelligent Process Automation was able to win a high double-digit number of new customers in 2020, including well-known international companies from the financial and healthcare industries. “Ultimately, customer benefit determines the success of our products. Flowable makes it possible to digitally engage with customers, citizens, partners and employees. This is crucial right now, but also in the future,” says Emruli, explaining the successful customer record. Geographically, the Asia Pacific region, Europe and North America were the main contributors to new customer growth.

Once again, mimacom’s core business in the DACH region and in Spain is at the center of its growth. mimacom was able to record an increase in customers and expand existing relationships, especially in the financial industry and with insurance and healthcare companies. “Our success allows mimacom to maintain its position as an expert in open source software solutions. This is measurable by the growing number of customers and is reflected in our business figures,” says Agim Emruli.

Optimal customer care and individual service is the top priority of the mimacom-Flowable Group. In order to meet the growing number of customers, another strong focus in 2020 was one of internal growth. Around 100 new employees were hired in the past fiscal year to promote innovation at all sites and business units.

Product expansions due to increasing demand

The development of the product and service offering allowed the mimacom-Flowable Group to meet the increasing demand for digital solutions. For example, Luware AG, acquired in 2019, launched a new product lineup last year with the modular, cloud-based Nimbus product suite for Microsoft Teams. Flowable also presented a new product range consisting of Flowable Work, Flowable Orchestrate and Flowable Engage.

For the coming year, the Group sees great opportunities in the further development of customer-centric services and automated business solutions based on open source technologies. Emruli emphasized the importance of digital transformation for the competitiveness of companies even beyond the crisis, which is why the Group is pursuing ambitious growth targets in 2021 as well.
